Amber Mortensen

Amber Mortensen grew up in St. George, where she now teaches biology at the same institution where she earned her associate degree.

Passionate about teaching, she values giving back to Utah Tech and supporting students—especially pre-nursing and pre-med majors—in foundational courses. Mortensen balances her academic career with family life, cherishing time with her husband and two sons.

PREVIOUS TEACHING

Mortensen began teaching as a Supplemental Instructor at the University of Utah. She later coordinated and taught labs at Dixie State/Utah Tech before joining as full-time faculty in 2022.
